Canary Wharf has shot to fame in recent months. The banks in the region have made the area one of the most infamous places in London. There are, however, many other reasons why the area should be known. The banks in the region may be the reason why Canary Wharf is famous, but they are also the reason why the area is incredibly trendy. The bankers and the many other people who work and live in the region have attracted cool bars and world class restaurants. Canary Wharf is a cool place to be and be seen. With flats to rent in Canary Wharf attracting some of the most glamorous of people in the world you can see why the area has gained its stylish and upmarket air.
The sleek tower blocks of London’s Canary Wharf dominate the city’s skyline and include one of Britain’s tallest buildings. One Canada Square was built in 1991 at a cost of £216 million and is now home to several banks and even a newspaper publisher. These skyscrapers form the backdrop of this cool district.
It is hard to believe that just 25 years ago, Canary Wharf was one of the most derelict areas of London. There are now many restaurants serving up some of the best food in the country. If you are in London then head down to the riverbank for food, music and a good time: you will not be disappointed.
Boisdale offers up a mix of good food and great music. The Scottish themed restaurant offers the finest beef, lamb, game and seafood. Music accompanies the veritable feast of delicacies and live jazz, blues and soul is played six nights a week. If you are looking for a laid back taste of Italian then head to Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, Jamie’s Italian in Churchill Place.
The region is known for scandal, but should be appreciated for excellent food and drink.
